I was fairly in debt and looking for a way out when I received an e-mail from Federated Financial. I decided to give it a try. The person I contacted told me they could help, they would lower my interest rates and help me pay off my debt in 2 years, all I had to do was pay a deposit of $500.00 and pay $500.00 a month. I thought great and got started.

After a year of using the service my interest rates in some cases have risen due to the fact that my creditors were not paid on time. Often times being passed over for a month. Late charges coming in every time. I contacted them stating my problem twice, twice they told me the creditors should not be doing this and that they would take care of it. So I got fed up.

After working alot of hours and pulling in some cash from overtime I've paid off enough of my own debt and canceled the service. When I canceled the person I spoke with said there was no record of my calling to report the late payments... Well I lost the $500 dollar deposit but at least now I can be sure my creditors are paid on time.

This service may work for some. For those great. Just didn't work for me and I've taken hits to my credit report from the late payments.

I wasn't even going to say anything until I read the last post and responce to it.

Take care, and thanks for your time.

Federated Financial DOES NOT Belong in the Rip Off Report!!

The reason our program wasn't working for Scott was never due to late payments or any failure on our part to promptly disburse his funds. We disburse daily, and his funds were always promptly sent to his creditors.

Admittedly, the one creditor he had problems with now claims to have never received our payment proposal in June of 2001. We were previously led to believe our proposal was accepted at that time, and we were never advised by Scott that this creditor was treating his payments as late throughout the entire time since then. It is incumbent upon the client to notify us under such circumstances.

The creditor in question only notifies the client (not the agency) when an account is accepted into its debt repayment program, and the client receives the only monthly statements. Only Scott could review his monthly statements to verify that he was actually receiving the benefits of reduced interest rates, as we understood to be the case. As are all of our clients, Scott was advised, both verbally and in writing, to carefully review his monthly statements for this reason. The problem he experienced could have been easily and quickly resolved had he brought it to our attention. It is unfair to scold us now, over a year and a half later.

As a company that is registered as compliant with the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System, all of our incoming and outgoing client communications are carefully recorded and maintained in a computerized database. Although Scott has indicated that he “contacted [us] stating [his] problem twice”, a review of his client file and all related notes reveals that he only once complained to us; that his prior complaint was in the form of a June 2001 email concerning an entirely different creditor; and that this unrelated concern was promptly resolved over a year and a half ago!

We never again had reason to believe this client was dissatisfied until he cancelled our service earlier this month. This is true despite the fact that we spoke with the client in November 2001 when he established recurring electronic debit payments from his bank account. He made no mention, at that time or otherwise, of any other problems or concerns, and his payments to us have continued up until the present month, December 2002. With all due respect to Scott, he is at least partly responsible for the difficulties he has experienced for not addressing this to us much sooner.

Fortunately for Scott, and notwithstanding his allegations to the contrary, this company takes customer service very seriously. We pride ourselves on our goal of total client satisfaction. If we did anything wrong in Scott's case, the worst that can be said is that we let him cancel without first getting to the bottom of what happened. This was contrary to our standard policy.

Although we feel that Scott was at least partly to blame for not raising his issues sooner, we do understand why he is dissatisfied with the results he attained with us. Although we are disappointed that he never gave us a fair chance to fix the problem, we acknowledge that he did not receive the benefit of his bargain with us. We do sympathize with his plight, although certainly we are not to be blamed for it. Nevertheless, in view of Scott's difficulties, and in keeping with our standard quality policies, we are sending this client a check in the amount of $974, constituting a full refund of his initial payment of $474, plus $500, as reimbursement for the late fees he received.

We hope that, in the future, individuals such as Scott will not rush to judgment concerning a company such as ours that so consistently acts in good faith. Our trained and experienced staff routinely handles problems of this nature, and we go to great lengths to assure that our responses to client concerns are both prompt and effective. We have found no factual support for Scott's claim that we ignored his complaints. Under all of the circumstances, we believe this result is more than fair.

PS: Would-be Rip Off Reporters are better advised to bring any issues of concern to our direct attention. We will not hesitate to zealously prosecute legal actions for libel and defamation against anyone who brings false claims about us on this website. We may not be able to reach the Rip Off Report or its owners, who hide behind a phone address in the Caribbean island country of Nevis, but we are quite serious when we say that, in the future, we can and will sue those here in the USA who defame our hard-earned, good name.

EDitor's Opinion ..you should have kept your big mouth shut

Hey Stevie,

What do you mean hiding? We're located here on the beautiful beaches of Nevis because we like it here… Come on down, the sun is shining and the water is about 83 degrees!

We have no clue as to what your company does or who you are?

Stevie, does it look like we authored this Rip-off Report? You should get yourself a lawyer who is Internet savvy. They will tell you that consumers have a right to post anywhere on the Internet what happened to them. Companies with a lot deeper pockets than you thought about coming after us but realized, the law is on our side… hey, take your best shot.

Here is an idea; why don't you just do the right thing for the victim instead of coming up with some long winded excuse? Wouldn't it have looked better for your company if you just said, hey, if this customer is unsatisfied, lets take care of them?

You should have left us out of it, we have nothing to do with the creation of this Rip-off Report, and you know it..

We see this is not your first Rip-off Report.
